Hi there

I'm Colleen Welsch, a singer-songwriter and music producer based in the vibrant city of Cleveland.

Here’s the truth.

I’m not going to tell you that I always wanted to be a musician. I did want to be a rockstar when I was a kid. I started writing songs at 7, experimenting with recording at 8, and learning guitar at 10. And then, I don’t know, life got in the way. The world isn’t exactly encouraging to adolescent creatives, so I went the “safe” route: college and a corporate job. That would make me happy, right?

WRONG. The path I was sold on led only to misery and addiction. Gradually I found my way to entrepreneurship and sobriety. Then in 2021, I set up a home studio and downloaded Ableton. Countless YouTube tutorials later, I released my first single in May 2022.

I’ve struggled in vain to ignore the call of my heart, which has only asked me to make music. I’m not ignoring it anymore!

Music Producer for Hire

Currently, I'm producing remotely and in-person for pop and indie singer-songwriters. I mostly focus on working with "the girls and the gays” – communities who may feel more comfortable working with a female producer. I record at The Clubhouse in Downtown Cleveland. From out of town? No worries. For EP and album projects, I can host you in my home and we’ll get all your final vocals recorded!

While I usually charge a production fee, in certain circumstances, I am open to collaboration projects (particularly if they are for sync).

Music Education

I am passionate about teaching others – especially young people – how to produce music. I believe we are so blessed to live at a time where anyone with a smartphone, tablet, or laptop can dabble in this art form. Whether you want to learn the basics of recording demos or how to turn your demos into polished, Spotify-ready tracks, I can help you level up your music production skills.

In the spring of 2025, I served as the Artist in Residence at Toledo’s Imagination Station. During my tenure, I hosted workshops where small groups of kids were able to write and record their own songs. I will continue this mission in the fall of 2025 at Heights Libraries as their Maker in Residence. Stay tuned for workshop sign-ups!

Performances & Events

As a seasoned performer, I have played countless shows in Northeast Ohio and beyond. I am available for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, and other events. Need some background music for a restaurant patio or festival? Say no more. I have an extensive repertoire of covers and my own PA system. Just name the time and place.

I also host open mics! You can catch me at M Bevy in Chagrin Falls, Ohio every Thursday this summer and see what it’s all about. I’m passionate about creating community around music and would love to build up another open mic in another area.
